About the Artisans

Alexandra Lehmann

lives in Charlestown for half the year. She learned block printing techniques under the late Jon Campbell. Jon was known throughout South County as a musician and artist of many forms. Deciding Raj by the Sea's color palette took heated discussions. The fantastic colors of India were finally put aside for the regional and more conservative colors found during New England's seasons.

Brand inspirations came from India Hick's collections for Pomegrante and wallpapers by Pierre Frey.

Pomegrante - top quality linens - claim they are hand blocked. Their designs may be done by hand - but their collections are clearly digitized.

How then do you tell the difference between handmade and computer generated (and therefore cheaper) product?
